As you might imagine, we need some serious software development mojo to pull this off. We are expanding our engineering team, and we are very specifically looking for the right developer who wants to be part of our startup and growth.

About the Role

We are looking for a person with serious distributed systems development skills to work on our enterprise SaaS software offerings. You should be a Scala enthusiast with a strong background implementing idiomatic Scala code. Being a passionate functional programming advocate is a huge plus; understanding PKI and crypto is also helpful. On this team, you will develop Evernym products as well as engage in the Sovrin community. Be a significant contributor to the Sovrin community and help ensure its success in the global identity arena. Dive into advanced distributed identity work to make sure self-sovereign identities are properly handled and secured.

Requirements & Considerations

• A BS/MS or equivalent and meaningful experience working with distributed systems


• Strong experience with Scala, Akka, Akka Streams and Actor Model.


• Expert experience using TDD and Unit Testing. Really. Don’t waste our time if you aren’t absolutely sold on TDD. This is a game changer when done right.


• Well-developed functional programming chops.


• Be hungry! We are looking for someone with a relentless hunger to find the best solutions to really difficult problems.


• Have a sense of adventure and a desire to grow and stretch abilities. Be willing to drink from the firehose.


• Have a happy attitude to work with remote colleagues in different timezones. Oh, and leave your ego at home. That’s what we do.


• Open source community experience a definite plus. Strong Linux kung fu desired.


• Able to travel to and from work in either our Draper, Utah or Belgrade, Serbia office.
