What you'll do
As part of the Engineering centre of excellence, Software Engineers from all Domains collaborate to optimise the bank’s software engineering capability, and you'll work within a Feature Team to produce software rapidly and of high quality which adds value to the business. Youll be responsible for the full lifecycle, from initial development, through enhancement and maintenance to replacement or decommissioning.

Other key responsibilities include:
* The deployment and delivery of Java services on AWS
* The configuration of AWS infrastructure through automation
* The design, production, testing and implementation of a working code
* Liaising with Principal Engineers in the domain, and other key stakeholders, to understand how the Platform works and how it supports business objectives
* Improving performance continually through the ongoing evaluation and analysis of metrics
* The application of Agile methods to the development of software
* Producing software that meets current non-functional requirements and is flexible to cope with future functional and non-functional needs

The skills you'll need
To be successful in this role, you'll need experience in JavaScript, Test Driven Development and CRSCD, as well as demonstrable experience in software engineering, software design or database design.

You'll also bring:
* Demonstrable experience in solving highly complex analytical and numerical problems
* A clear understanding of how your area of expertise supports RBS customers, ranging from applications and services, supported or developed, to decisions taken
* Demonstrable coding experience in multiple programming languages
* Demonstrable experience of DevOps, Agile and associated toolsets and methodologies
* Demonstrable experience of implementing programming best practice, especially around scalability and automation
