Imaging Engineer (Software Programming & Image Analysis) at Epic Sciences (San Diego, CA)

SUMMARY:

The Imaging Engineer provides hardware and software design, testing and integration support for the product development platform.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for the design and development of a platform for the acquisition of high resolution fluorescent microscopy images
• Coordinating the microscope, cameras, stage and light source.
• understand existing C++ code
• Create wrapper classes around hardware control modules responsible for the data acquisition process.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

May perform additional duties as assigned or directed by management from time to time

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• 2+- Years of software development experience
• B.S. in relevant field, or equivalent experience
• Experience with C#, C++, .NET 4.0+, VS2010+
• Experience with WPF, WCF, SQL, Prism, MEF, Unity, MWM, Entity Framework 5.0, Enterprise Library a plus
• Solid understanding of good programming practices, architecture, design patterns and unit testing
• Experience in a regulated environment a big plus
• Experience with digital microscopy a big plus

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Ability to work with complex algorithms and implement them inC#
• Ability to assimilate hardware vendor API's and documentation
• Instrument control experience using Firewire and Serial Ports
• Excellent communication skills required
