KPMG Luxembourg is actively looking to recruit Senior Software Engineer to join its Apache Spark initiative, which is reshaping the way services are rendered in the Fund Industry. This service line has a high growth, driven by the use of this new technology, creating new possibilities.
As a member of the Technology & Data analytics team, you will occupy a key role in the creation to tomorrow’s B2B financial services and you will make a difference thanks to the technical quality of the software implemented.
Project description: it's a sophisticated tax reporting project. This process aims at calculating tax indicators that are used across Europe to determine the percentage of imposition for the investors in various countries. Any miscalculation may result in strong tax impact for the investors. In order to deal with the large volumes while preserving data accuracy and respect very tight deadlines, we put in place a calculation architecture based on Apache Spark able process in a matter of minutes millions of financial transactions to deduce the tax impacts per country.
The role and responsibilities
- Develop using modern technology (Scala / Java, MongoDB, Docker, Spark …)
- Work hand in hand with business experts
- Implement and conceptualize features
- Propose solutions to improve the existing application
- Write technical documentation
- Work in a multidisciplinary/multicultural environment with highly skilled colleagues
The perfect candidate
- Holds a BSc/MSc in Computer science, Math or similar.
- Is familiar with concepts of TDD, Functional Programming and Object Oriented Design Patterns
- Has deep business knowledge of Funds accounting and/or is willing to develop business expertise
- Has strong skills in functional programming (Scala, Spark), algorithmic and engine design.
- Is fluent in English. Any other language considered as clear assets.
- Is a fast learner
- Displays a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
- Likes teamwork, is passionate about his work and code quality.
