In this role you will work closely with our global construction teams and various internal departments, including Data Center Analytics, Procurement and Finance to support all aspects of project cost management and financial forecasting for Facebooks growing Infrastructure Construction team. Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills are a must in this highly collaborative role. Depending on the skills and work experience of the candidate, the trajectory of the position can evolve into a controls manager role, which broadens the reach to influence the way we think about and manage construction schedule and development risk. This is a full-time role based in our Ashburn office and includes monthly travel to our domestic construction locations and California Headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Support Facebook Project Controls Manager who manages data center retrofits, miscellaneous technical construction projects and long-haul fiber as well as other non-standard infrastructure construction projects
- Manage project cost and schedule, including budget, forecast, commitments, accruals, Work-In-Place, milestones, WBS, progress, risks, contingency, and KPIs
- Utilize and maintain historical cost databases (eBuilder or similar) through input of budgets, commitments, work in place, invoices, and forecasts
- Provide monthly project status report (cost, schedule)
- Conduct accrual analysis and coordinate with payment processing teams to track the status of vendor payments
- Execute the project completion close out process, including closing contracts, finalizing schedule, and reconciling schedule/cost performance against baseline
- Update and progress the project schedule while maintaining logic to the master control schedule
- Manage the project change control process and maintain the schedule baseline and current budget to reflect approved changes
- Occasional travel to various Facebook sites (25%)
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS or equivalent in construction management, engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years experience in construction and project planning for multi-project construction programs
- Knowledge of construction specifications, construction drawings, and other project documentation including RFIs, submittals, payment applications, and change orders
- Collaboration experience and problem-solving mindset
- Knowledge with Primavera P6, MS Excel, PowerPoint
- Knowledge with a cost control tooling (such as eBuilder, EcoSys, Cobra, Aconex, Unifier, or others)
- Experience communicating financial status and schedule details from multiple construction sites to project managers
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of field experience
- At least five years of experience managing and analyzing cost and schedule in multi-project construction programs
