We have a client in Raleigh that is expanding rapidly and in the process of bringing on additional resources The ideal candidate would have a strong background building Windows systems and standing up networks along with having worked on projects for clients as part of a managed service. This engineer needs to be able to design and implement a complete Windows environment from scratch on VMware. This includes Active Directory, DNS, server hardware, disk/storage layout, as well as backups, scheduled tasks, terminal services, etc.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of networking, including routing and switching and firewall technologies
- Strong Knowledge of Windows Servers, including AD, file sharing, management, administration, DNS, DHCP, networking, Hyper-V, patching, and VSS backups
- Strong Knowledge of Windows workstations including Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10
- Strong knowledge of security concepts such as ACLs, sysmon, AV, AS, ATP, IDS, IPS, incident response, and hunting
- Familiarity with tools and product stack such as Connectwise, Labtech, Acronis, VEEAM, FireEye, PassPortal, Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti, HP hardware, Dell hardware, Synology, etc.
- Experience in a MSP environment is a plus
- Experience troubleshooting complex issues to resolution or engaging the proper resources to resolve the problem
- Experience setting up a firewall and configuring the network
Education/Experience
- 5+ years industry experience
- Bachelors degree preferred but not required.
