Software Engineer, Mobile Infrastructure at Asana (San Francisco, CA)

Asana has a big mission and even bigger opportunity: to empower all teams to do great things together. We’re off to a great start. Teams in the world’s fastest growing companies (like Uber, Airbnb, and Pinterest) track their work and achieve greater goals with Asana. But, we’re not stopping there. Our team of peers is growing rapidly and we’re tackling new challenges daily. Join us.

At Asana, we build collaboration and communication software to help all teams work together effortlessly and do great things. The Mobile team works to provide a seamless cross-platform experience for our users who are on the go. We work hard to maintain a codebase and a culture that are a joy to work in by combining tried-and-true mobile best practices with a focus on usability and design. This focus led to us recently winning a Material Design award for our Android app.

As an engineer on the mobile infrastructure team, you’ll be responsible for enabling high quality mobile client applications on iOS and Android. You may work on modeling the Asana work graph or on mobile APIs or on notification services. At times, you might work on some combination of these in the same day. You’ll also work with PMs and designers as part of the product development lifecycle. In this role, you’ll be combining tried and tested software engineering and API best practices with many of the innovative ideas that our in-house framework, LunaDb, already offers to web applications. Relocation offered.

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience

  • Experience developing, releasing and maintaining services

  • Sound judgment for balancing between scrappiness and long-term code quality

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Desirable

  • Knowledge of ScalaJavascript or Python

  • Familiarity with mobile application development

  • Well rounded, capable of working on infrastructure and product code

  • Care deeply about helping teams collaborate more effectively

Does the above sound like it might be you? Then we’d love to hear from you. Our goal is to provide a hiring and working experience in which all people know they are equally respected and valued. So whatever it is that makes you unique—your gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age, citizenship, educational background, socioeconomic status—we value it, and we’d love to see what you might add to our team.
