Senior Linux Engineer
Based in Kreuzberg, Berlin
What you’ll be doing:
- Be responsible for the Kubernetes and Cloud Integration
- Provide bare metal server administration
- Hybrid / Private cloud design, deployment and administration
- Provisioning new servers, imaging, monitoring, and other daily routines
- Daily monitoring and maintenance of servers, applications and containers
- Perform backup, file replication, and script management for servers
- Test and apply new software and patches
- Complete security audits on a routine basis
- Collaboration with developers (support and guidance)
- Identifying and solving architectural problems of infrastructure
What experience and skills we are looking for
- Deep knowledge of Linux System Administration.
- Ability to deploy, support, and diagnose real (hardware, software and network) issues for a production environment.
- Advanced/Intermediate experience in Kubernetes.
- Advanced/Intermediate experience in Docker and/or rkt technologies.
- Advanced experience with Virtualization using QEMU/KVM and/or VirtualBox or similar.
- Working knowledge of complex web hosting configuration components, including firewalls, haproxy, web and database servers.
- Advanced/intermediate experience with configuration management software (Puppet, Ansible, Chef or similar).
- Advanced/intermediate experience with monitoring and alerting systems (grafana, graphite, prometheus, icinga etc.)
- CoreOS and Alpine Linux experience.
- Experience in communicating with external suppliers.
- Experience in nginx web servers, as well as deploying custom in-house developed services.
- MySQL/PostgreSQL administration.
- Experience in GCP
