Trading Software Developer at Ronin Capital (Chicago, IL)

This is an opportunity to work with a small independent team of experienced traders. The team has a long history with excellent performance in quantitative strategies centered on options market making and volatility arbitrage.


The Trading Software Developer will work closely with the traders on the team to design and implement applications used for trade execution, modeling and analysis. The group employs a combination of independent proprietary software and common firm infrastructure. The developer’s main responsibility will be to design, develop and maintain the group’s proprietary software solutions. A secondary responsibility will be to liaison with the broader firm’s infrastructure developers.


A successful candidate will be a driven and highly independent software developer. The candidate should have experience with a full-scale development cycle from design to deployment. Ideally, the candidate should have been responsible in a material way in the creation of multiple production grade applications. Direct experience with projects related to execution of electronic trading strategies is preferred.


The role will be highly entrepreneurial, requiring a candidate who can decisively take ownership of project responsibilities. The position is a front office role and the developer will be located directly on the trading floor in physical proximity to the rest of the trading team. There is potential for the right candidate to become a key contributor to the group’s performance with everything that entails in terms of room for personal growth and compensation.


Responsibilities:



  • Work closely with the trading team to develop tools and applications for development and execution of automated quantitative trading strategies

  • Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain applications and modules.

  • Manage and communicate workflow requirements and project updates.


Requirements:



  • Expert C++ skills in a Linux production environment

  • Solid understanding of object oriented design

  • Preferably at least two years of experience in developing applications for execution of electronic trading strategies in C++

  • Knowledge of automated options trading is a significant plus, but not required.

  • Proficient in database programming and design

  • Experience with version control, Git is preferred

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work and perform in a trading floor environment
