Your challenge
Quby is very mature in running containerized workloads in production. Our short term goal is to have fully independent development teams. We are looking for a Devops engineer with a true 50/50 Development/Operations split.
You are a polyglot in computer languages and you can easily pick up a new technology from one sprint to the next.
- Platform development. Improve our platform with new services, better automation, more advanced self-healing capabilities, or deeper insights.
- Operational work (i.e. assisting dev teams, troubleshooting, fixing bugs).
- On Call duties. We rarely get called, and automation goes a long way, but we like to keep an eye on things.
Who you are
A fast learner who thrives in challenging environments and has a creative yet pragmatic approach to problem solving. You are a team player with excellent communication skills, who is curious by nature and takes ownership at work.
- Master's Degree or equivalent experience.
- We prefer someone who's skilful over knowledgeable.
- Living and breathing Agile Product Development.
- 5+ years experience as a Devops Engineer in a technical and innovative environment.
- Practical person, who likes to teach and coach colleagues.
- Keywords: Scrum, Cloudformation/aws cli, deep knowledge of EC2, ALB, Python, JVM Mgmt, Shell scripting, Linux, Docker, Marathon / Kubernetes / Borg / Swarm, Kibana/Elasticsearch, Unit testing, Service discovery strategies, SQL (MySql focused).
- Ability to determine priorities, execute and validate systematically.
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams (functional and personal).
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Nice to have: pair programming, lambda, Java, Javascript, TDD.
- You have no problem with on call shifts (stand-by) once a month.
