Qualifications:
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
- Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
- Advanced knowledge of architecture, design and business processes
Proficiency in modern programming languages
- Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
- Experience leading the design, development and support of production-grade cloud solutions in Cloud ecosystems such
as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience integrating a mixture of third party vendor solutions with bespoke developed solutions to provide an end to
end solution for clients
- Proven track record developing cloud native applications in one or more general purpose programming languages,
preferably Python, Java or Golang
- Experience working in a globally distributed team
Required Technical Skills
- At least 6 years of enterprise software development in Java or Python on distributed systems.
- Development experience against messaging solutions (Rabbit MQ, Kafka, Active MQ) is a requirement
- Experience in deploying software solutions to GAIA
- At least 6 years experience in development unit and integration testing using JUnit and either Fitnesse or Robot
- At least 6 years experience in continuous integration & continuous development using pipelines such as Team City, Concourse, AWS CodePipeline or Jenkins
- At least 2 years of experience in development REST Web Services and Clients of REST Web Services
- Git/Bitbucket experience of at least 2 years
- Hands on SQL experience of at least 2 years required. Preference in Oracle or MySQL
- At least 6 years experience deploying software and doing development in Linux. Knowledge of Bash shell scripting required (2 years). Experience with Red Hat Linux 6/7 is a plus
