What you'll be working on
JavaScript apps and SDKs. We are developing an updated version of our consumer-facing app written in Angular (6+) and Node.js that integrates the new features of our API. (Initial versions of the app went live for 10 million+ end users in early 2018.)
You'll work with a small team to create and maintain features of the Angular app, as well as other apps and tools that show off the RewardOps API and help other developers integrate with us. (A new React app is a distinct possibility, for example.)
Core API. The front-end team is the first to use new public API features. You’ll provide feedback on what works and what doesn’t with the API. You’ll also have the chance to contribute ideas for new and improved API endpoints.
What you'll get out of the job
Our team's strength comes from collaboration and initiative. We follow Agile and value transparency. You'll take an active role in setting priorities, and will have a real say in the direction of the company.
This is a great opportunity to use your skills and passion for the modern front-end stack to help build a powerful, maintainable app using cutting-edge technology.
Skills & Requirements
- Know your way around one or more modern front-end JavaScript frameworks like Angular, Ember, React, Preact, Vue, etc.
- Have experience building at least one previous Angular project.
- Show you have some experience writing tools or servers with Node.js, and interacting with APIs using OAuth.
- Be great with HTML(5), CSS(3) and SCSS. We don't expect you to be a designer, but you know when something looks ugly and should be fixed (or at least know to ask someone for a second opinion).
- Be comfortable following (a moderate level of) TDD and using JS testing frameworks (e.g., Mocha, QUnit, Jasmine). You don't need to be a testing expert, just willing to learn!
- Be comfortable with Git, Agile and all that modern development jazz.
- Experience architecting JavaScript applications or libraries is a plus.
- Experience with Typescript is a plus.
- Bonus points for being up-to-date on ES2015+ and transpilers like Babel.
- Extra bonus points for experience with Ember and/or Ruby on Rails.
- And don't forget to include a link to your GitHub, Stack Overflow profile, CodePen profile, or some other tech-focused online presence.
