Why become a Lead PHP Developer at Noggin?
Noggin's software solutions are not only super smart and super complex; they make the lives of our communities and clients a lot simpler by enabling them to turn chaos into order and manage disruption, smarter. As a result, we need an application support and production operations team that is second to none.
Due to a highly valued member of the team taking long service leave towards the end of the year, we're looking for a lead PHP Developer to come on board. If you're keen to work on complex, meaningful and interesting software as well as become a part of (and ultimately lead) a smart, capable and dedicated team - then this is the perfect time to come on board.
This is an opportunity to really put your PHP and MySQL skills to the test as you'll be working with exceptionally large and complex software solutions - and you'll need to become well acquainted with them quickly.
What does it take to be a Noggin?
You have an extensive experience as a senior or lead PHP developer where you've been the backbone of a team of developers supporting complex, critical applications within an ITIL environment and supporting tier 1 customers. You're a great communicator and technical technical authority (strong experience with LAMP stack and Linux CLI) with a knack for getting to the crux of a problem and coming up with viable solutions quickly.
As our lead PHP Developer, you'll be core to the success of our production operations team for our flagship product and longer term, you and your team will start to support our next generation software solutions as well. You're an exceptional senior or lead developer, you're a thinker, a problem solver and a go-getter. And you're really keen to take on a new challenge where you can build on your skills as well become a team lead and the go-to for the business.
You are energetic and communicative by nature which makes you a great mentor to those around you. But you're also so much more, behind that you're super smart, you have the 'nerd gene' in spades and you live and breathe technology.
What does success look like in this role?
In your first 3 months, you will have become fully acquainted with our systems, teams and processes as well as being able to effectively contribute ideas and solutions to daily issues.
6 months in, you would have built credibility with the team, you'll have added significant value in solving some pretty complex problems and you'll be fully conversant with our systems architecture.
After 12 months, you will have made the team and product your own and you'll be viewed as the expert by your team and the rest of the business. You will have begun to develop the capabilities each member of your team and you'll have created a proactive culture where business improvement and best practise are part of the BAU.
