We’re growing our platform engineering Automation Services team within the Digital Enterprise Services IT organization. The team is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer and technologist to work with an existing DevOps & Full-stack team in their journey towards becoming a world-class engineering team.
This team leverages Software Engineering and DevOps principles to optimize the company’s business critical systems and processes by building re-usable platforms and automation services. Responsibilities
- Own applications from end-to-end - yes from your local machine all the way production
- Implement responsive web application’s
- Design, develop, re-factor, optimize, and enhance solutions that enable key business functions
- Ensure full-stack software solutions are architected and delivered using industry-leading DevOps best practices and technologies
- Work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing by utilizing your skills in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming to automate manual enterprise operations tasks and optimize business processes that reduce workloads and create organizational efficiencies
- Create reusable automation libraries, patterns, and APIs that can be shared across the enterprise on a unified platform
- Work with open source tools, rich dashboards and implement proactive monitoring solutions
- Work on automation opportunities across various domains and business systems as the need arises
- Optimize and support our existing public cloud or data center based solutions and workloads
- Cross-team collaboration and coordination to ensure reliable, secure, available and scalable releases
- Mentor other engineers and deeply review code
- Communicate effectively and responsibly in an Agile environment
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master in Computer Science or related field
- 7 or more years of relevant programming experience
- Strong knowledge and experience with web technology stacks
- Extended experience with building Restful APIs
- Demonstrable IT knowledge commensurate with DevOps in an Enterprise and public cloud (AWS)
- Hands-on experience with most of the following: Java, HTML,CSS, JavaScript, AngularJS/VueJS, Webpack, Node.js, shell scripting (Windows/*nix), Micro-services, Serverless(FaaS) and RESTful web services
- Full-stack IT experience: *nix, Windows, hardware, network/firewall concepts, public cloud services, LDAP/Active Directory, DNS, automation tools (Jenkins, Docker, AWSCodeBuild & AWS CodePipeline)
- Hands-on Linux experience
- Experience with various database technologies (NoSQL, SQL) and data interchange formats (XML, JSON)
- Experience building secure software solutions
- Designs and develops solutions with the end-user in mind
- Deals well with ambiguous or undefined problems ability to think abstractly and guide others
- Comfortable performing requirements analysis, interfacing with stakeholders of various levels and documenting solutions
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to articulate technical topics to non-technical audiences both in writing, in diagrams and person
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and experience in Java and related frameworks
- Strong knowledge and experience with AngularJS/VueJS
- Strong experience in AWS or other public cloud stacks
- Strong experience in Restful APIs
- Experience deciding when to use common software design and architectural patterns, including server-less design within the public cloud (AWS)
- Extensive experience utilizing the Agile methodology
- Self-motivated, autonomous, empathetic and great communication skills
