Software Engineer - DevOps at Blackbaud (Charleston, SC)

As a Staff Software Engineer on Blackbaud's Corporate IT DevOps Team, you are primarily responsible for the support of Blackbaud's internal processes and improving our production systems. This includes technologies such as Angular, C#, JavaScript, and PowerShell. Your contributions will be critical to the smooth operation of Blackbaud's tier 1 systems and your success in these areas will allow Blackbaud to continue doing what we are so good at doing: helping non-profit organizations focus more on their mission!

Major responsibilities and critical tasks for this position include:
  • Expand your skills designing and developing technical solutions using technologies at your disposal (Angular, C#, JavaScript, PowerShell, etc).
  • Help design, migrate, and sustain on-prem solutions moving into Azure.
  • Solve defects within our operational software baseline, also looking for efficiency, refactoring, and automation opportunities.
  • Use latest technology (such as SonarQube) and industry best practices to improve our overall software quality (such as code coverage, proactive log monitoring and resolve, and automated testing).
  • Lead peers using metrics-based information to solve current and future problems.
  • Knowledge of modern design patterns and principals such as: Inversion of Control, Test Driven Development, Dependency Injection, and Gang of Four.
  • Work directly with internal customers to understand their needs and identify areas of opportunity.
  • A passion for technology and creating new and out-of-the-box capabilities.

Education and Experience
  • BS Computer Science or related
  • Experience in Software Development
  • Experience with DevOps (continuous integration + continuous deployment),
  • Experience with REST Web Services
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and VSTS, helpful
