The position requires excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate user interactions and a willingness to provide educational workshops to groups of users. 40% - A. Provide Support for CCN Users - 1. Maintain educational computing resources for CCN community. a. Offer bimonthly training workshops. b. Provide computing orientations to new users. c. Provide email support and an email listserv. d. Maintain CCNs online user wiki. 2. Assist with fMRI/EEG analysis pipelines. 3. Assist with basic programming. 4. Interface between users and Semel/UCLA (ATS) computing tech support/administration. 30% - B. Administer FUNC-CCN Computing Hoffman2 Cluster Resources & Accounts 1. Maintain the CCN group software a. Install & update software tools (FSL, AFNI etc.) b. Attend user and planning meetings about Hoffman2 directions. c. Transmit updates on Hoffman2 and user resources to CCN users. d. Maintain Hoffman2 portions of CCN Wiki, including walkthroughs. e. Provide support to groups on data organization, archiving, usage. f. Monitor Hoffman2 overall usage. e. Work with CCN executive to implement standards and changes in Hoffman2 usage. 2. Address emails from CCN group users, pointing them back to the Wiki and ATS help lines as needed. 20% - C. Maintain CCN Suite Computer Hardware and Software 1. Maintain EEG & fMRI data acquisition, and personnel computers a. perform routine software and hardware upgrades b. maintain security of computers c. perform data backups 2. Maintain auxiliary fMRI computing resources a. maintain MR monitoring system b. interface with Semel computing staff regarding CCN wifi/internet c. maintain peripheral devices (Arduino) 10% - D. Maintain CCN Data & Software Servers 1. Maintain server hardware, reorder and replace parts as needed. 2. Maintain server software and data backups. 3. Maintain user login accounts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field, or equivalent experience - Minimum 2 years experience in system management or image processing; research experience is acceptable (preferred) - Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with staff, researchers, and research subjects - Ability to follow and execute researcher instructions - Demonstrated experience with system management (preferred) - Knowledge of imaging data and analysis (preferred) - Strong customer service skills with a wide variety of users - Strong attention to detail and able to prioritize effectively - Team-player
