Development Team Lead (Java) at BJSS (London, UK)

Are you a passionate technologist who understands the benefits of an Agile Dev Ops approach to software development?

Do you enjoy building, scalable, high-performance applications from the ground up?

Do you enjoy leading, mentoring and bringing out the best in other people?

If you answered yes to these questions, then you’re almost half way on your journey to joining BJSS. We’re a forward thinking and progressive business and therefore we’re looking for like-minded folks to join us. At the core, you will be an engineer who enjoys the challenge of innovation and creativity and you will have experience of leading teams of developers.  This role will primarily be focused on building greenfield solutions for our varied client base. You will engage directly with the client and typically work as part of a wider BJSS delivery team.  Strong Java knowledge and varied technical experience is key for this role. Our renowned Enterprise Agile approach will provide the structure you need to be successful with your delivery and to ensure that quality is a constant focus. Testing will be high on your agenda and no code shall pass, unless it has been fully tested.

Each project that you work on will vary.  BJSS is not a product business, so each solution that we develop is unique, giving you access to a range of different and emerging technologies and technical environments. We work across different clients and industries to add to the diversity of this role. Alongside hands-on technical work, you'll be helping to support the BJSS London development community: working with team members on their professional development and hiring new people.

Now for the technical bit and the skills we need from you…

  • Solid experience working in an Agile delivery team

We’ve evolved over the years; embracing the latest developments in technology and our clients think of us as the go to technology engineers who tackle the hard stuff. We’re over 1,000 people with offices throughout the UK and North America and growing fast. Our clients don’t engage us to do routine work – they look to us to tackle their most challenging problems, often to deliver where others have failed. Our work is technically challenging and our clients demanding - providing the opportunity for our people to enjoy a wide variety of professional experiences supported by a culture that values and rewards ability and contribution.

At BJSS, we believe that diversity and inclusion are at the heart of the creativity and innovation we deliver for our clients. We value the diversity of our people – and the varied experiences, expertise, backgrounds and perspectives they bring.
