Your Role:
The Technical Support Lab Operations Specialist will posses solid problem solving skills, prudence, and demonstrate and effectiveness in managing competing priorities. They will be a motivated and growth oriented team member who works well with minimal supervision but works closely and effectively with a team, and makes good decisions even under stressful conditions. Maturity of approach, and a dedication to providing stable, predictable, and useful platforms for the Technical Support organization, while avoiding unnecessary expense, are important traits.
Your Opportunity:
- Ensure of availability of Dev/Test Lab for use by Technical Support
- Suggest improvements and integrations in support of efficiency
- Create and implement disaster recovery plan
- Monitor use of resources, advise on excessive use, and plan for future growth
- Create regular snapshot and system restore points
- Install and maintain hypervisors, operating systems and application software
- Act as primary resource for technical issues with the Lab environment
What you'll need:
- Advanced or better understanding of Linux System Administration, Windows Desktop/Server Administration, and Network Administration
- Intermediate or better experience with scripting in bash/powershell
- In-depth knowledge of vmware/vsphere
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
And ideally:
- Configuration Management, and Automation experience a plus
