Chief Technology Officer at Rotor Studios (North Sydney, Australia)

We’re looking for a Chief Technology Officer who can provide technical leadership, vision and guidance to Rotor Studios. You are incredibly organised with a creative mindset that drives you to find innovative solutions to problems. A true collaborator, you love working with and inspiring others. While you’re a realist, you always have a positive approach; your ability to engage and motivate your team will ensure they are the best they can be.  You’ve designed, implemented and supported IT infrastructure across the enterprise, and have an an uncanny ability to reconcile the IT needs of all departments and teams.


You’ll be leading / mentoring / managing a growing technical team, including developers and IT specialists. You are also responsible for the people management of Rotor’s Head of Web Technologies and Head of Realtime Development Managers, ensuring that they have the tools and support to effectively perform their roles. You will also be responsible and fully accountable for all IT functions, including IT operations, infrastructure, applications and project delivery.


You understand the need for process but you always have an ingenious outlook towards problem solving. You must have a deep understanding and love for technology development, and its impact on business and society.


RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Manage the Technology team (Interactive & Web Development) and liaise with the Post Production team to ensure effective production and delivery

  • Collaborate to create a long term Technology vision and strategic plan for Rotor

  • Ensuring technologies are used efficiently, profitably and securely

  • Overseeing all of Rotor’s infrastructure

  • Constant evaluation of and focus on ROI

  • Evaluating and implementing new systems and infrastructure as required

  • Using stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology

  • Communicating technology strategy to the executive team and department heads (made up of both technical and non-technical members)

  • Recruiting (in conjunction with the Head of People & Culture) as required


QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS



  • Ability to inspire Rotor with knowledge and experience of new and emerging technologies

  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise systems, including network,  communication and storage systems.

  • Appropriate certifications or experience in information security

  • Demonstrated track record in effective project delivery

  • Experience in strategic planning and execution

  • Experience with building and managing high performing teams

  • High level decision making ability with the proven capability to develop goals, plans and projects to achieve Rotor’s organisational objectives

  • Ability to listen to and critically evaluate stakeholder needs and develop appropriate solutions in collaboration with stakeholders

  • Pragmatic analysis of business requirements to ensure cost-appropriate solutions are proposed and implemented

  • Extremely high level of interpersonal and communication skills

  • Advanced analysis, problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to strike a balance between being an exceptional people person while maintaining a business focus

  • Experience with and an advocate for agile processes

  • Ability to articulate ideas and concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Proven background of hands-on experience
