Publishing Services, an Agora company, is looking for a Senior Messaging Support / QA Analyst to join their team. This role is based on The Agora’s main campus, set in Baltimore City’s historic and cultural hub called Mount Vernon - where every day, roughly 1,200 people work as part of the organization. The Senior Messaging Support / QA Analyst will ensure the effective use of Publishing Services’ messaging tools (email, SMS, push) and their integration with the company’s e-commerce system, service-oriented infrastructure, and other related software. It will be your responsibility to maintain the functionality of the email platform including software configuration, server maintenance, and fulfilling customer requests. Responsibilities
- Provide support to the users of their messaging tools.
- Assist with the usage of the end-user tools.
- Develop custom targets (subsets of email lists) using SQL Queries.
- Develop custom content using macros.
- Develop custom tools and scripts.
- Understand integration with and be able to troubleshoot connection to e-commerce system, Advantage system (CRM), and Middleware system (Service-oriented infrastructure).
- Maintain and develop PHP scripts/programs to automate tasks, create end-user tools, and monitor their messaging too.s
- Participate in an on-call schedule.
- Provide management with ideas to improve their systems.
- Identify bugs.
- Suggest new features/enhancements.
- Provide thorough analysis, testing, and documentation of their messaging tools.
- Participate in projects (system upgrades, acquisition of new publishers, etc.)
- Work within their Support Ticketing System (Jira Service Desk).
Qualifications
- Intermediate proficiency in writing SQL queries.
- Intermediate proficiency in writing HTML.
- Intermediate proficiency in writing JavaScript.
- Fundamental awareness of SSIS packages.
- Fundamental awareness of LUA or other programming languages.
- Fundamental awareness of DNS and email-related technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Linux (CentOS/Red Hat preferred).
- Available to participate in on-call schedule.
- Experience in application support and troubleshooting.
- Has a strong customer focus.
- Able to work independently.
- Able to manage time effectively.
Experience and Education
- BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related.
- 3-5 years of previous experience in software development.
- Previous experience in related software development life cycle activities or support.
- A fundamental understanding of Agile software development.
