Publishing Services is looking for a Software Business Analyst to work within a fast-paced, mature agile team. As a Software Business Analyst you will assist with all phases of the software development life cycle including gathering and translating business requirements into functional development specifications, following development tasks to completion, and investigating ways to optimize current functionality and processes.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between the customer community and the software development team to gather and communicate requirements which help define and verify product design.
- Coordinate, schedule, and lead customer-focused collaboration sessions.
- Elicit, analyze, validate, and manage the true needs of their customers.
- Translate business and user requirements into functional requirements via customer collaboration.
- Create design mocks using wireframe and prototyping software.
- Conduct follow-up conversations with customers, as needed.
- Serve as a resource for engineering and quality assurance; clarifying requirements throughout the software development life cycle.
- Maintain and update requirements as needed throughout the software development life cycle.
- Create and distribute release notes to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Product Manager to document product vision and roadmap.
- Support internal staff by communicating and training new functionality prior to releases.
- Work with Quality Assurance to record and/or review test plans, test scenarios, and test cases results in preparation for regression testing and product validation.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, face-to-face and in writing.
- Be a team player and be glad to pitch in to help teammates in need.
- Work until the job is done and done well.
Qualifications
Experience and Education
- BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related
- 2+ years of previous experience in software development business analysis
- Previous experience in related software development life cycle activities or support
- A fundamental understanding of Agile software development
Skills & Abilities
- Innate curiosity about processes, systems and user functionality.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and understand the necessary components of a solution through analysis, planning, evaluation of cost/benefit, testing and reporting.
- Maintain a sense of urgency and hold others accountable to get working software out the door.
- Be ready to report on projects formally and on-the-fly.
- Ruthless team collaborator, ready to give and receive constructive feedback.
