We are looking for an enthusiastic Software Engineer that will take a leading role in development of one of our flag-ship tools: Mali Graphics Debugger.


What you can expect to spend your day doing:



  • Taking key design decisions for the product, reviewing design concepts generated within a team

  • Representing the software engineering team on internal meetings and forums related to the software product

  • Reviewing time estimates and feasibility aspects for planned work packages and their schedule. Working with partners and customers to help them solve their problems.

  • Participating in the design, implementation and testing of new tools and features

  • Maintaining the existing codebase: fixing bugs and backporting new features. Reviewing other people's code, writing and maintaining documentation.

  • Wireframing user interfaces and thinking about usability issues


Job Requirements


Education:


University degree in covering an engineering or science subject area, although other disciplines will be considered with relevant experience.


Essential:



  • Proven experience in leading a complex software project with 3D graphics APIs (OpenGL and/or OpenGL ES).

  • You should have worked with Java and the Eclipse framework across a range of platforms (at least two of Linux, Mac OS X and Windows) and an understanding of how to write portable software. Knowledgable with Python but otherwise Ruby and experience with version control systems (we use Git).

  • Experience in developing distributed, client-server software systems.

  • You have strong testing skills and the knowledge of at least one xUnit framework.

  • Ability to take design decisions and analyze their impact to a complex codebase whilst keeping an appreciation of code aesthetics, maintainability and technical debt.

  • Excellent spoken and written English skills and ability to pick up new technologies quickly.


Desirable Skills & Experience:



  • Practical experience with developing for Linux using GNU toolchain and you have knowledge of C and C++.

  • Embedded systems (especially if they Arm systems).

  • Experience in working with Vulkan, OpenCL or other graphics API, UI and UX design and Eclipse plugin development.

  • Agile development methodology.

  • You have experience with customer support.
