SportsGameX is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join our data team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in designing and implementing robust data pipelines for our advanced analytics and machine learning applications.
Position Overview :
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of gathering, transforming, and storing large-scale data efficiently on cloud platforms.
You will work collaboratively in a small team environment, contributing to key decision-making in our data infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities :
Data Acquisition :
- Write efficient scripts to gather large-scale data from diverse sources using APIs.
- Implement data extraction techniques to ensure data quality and accuracy.
Data Transformation :
- Apply advanced transformations to raw data, ensuring it is cleansed, normalized, and ready for downstream processing.
- Utilize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to enhance data quality and usability.
Cloud Storage :
- Design and implement scalable solutions for storing and managing data on cloud platforms (e. , AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Optimize data storage for cost efficiency and performance.
Data Modeling :
- Develop and implement effective data models to support analytics and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data needs and create appropriate models.
Schema Design :
- Create and maintain database schemas to facilitate efficient data retrieval and analysis.
- Ensure schema designs align with business objectives and support evolving data requirements.
Pipeline Creation :
- Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines to facilitate fast and efficient data processing.
- Optimize pipelines for scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience (4+ years) in data engineering roles with a focus on large-scale data processing.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e., Python, Java) and experience with data manipulation libraries.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hands-on experience with cloud-based data storage solutions.
- Expertise in data modeling, schema design, and database optimization.
- Previous experience in a small team environment where key decisions were made.
