About Team:

Enterprise Returns is one of the core & foundational divisions in Walmart Labs that aims at enabling the return of any item on any channel and ensure customers are refunded swiftly while maximizing return value for Walmart and our partners. This division is responsible for developing very large scale real-time, omni-channel, configurable and extensible platforms which enables us to expose "Returns as a Service"

There are very few places, if any, where you can bridge physical and digital experiences for hundreds of millions of users. Our team builds products that empower customers in over 5000 Walmart stores, 2000+ Sellers and Millions of Products. We experiment with new features and technologies and scale successful products rapidly. We are product focused and expect our fellow engineers to be involved in all parts of the product development from product requirements and design to implementation and testing. We adapt new technologies, and our work includes challenges in the areas of security, geolocation, payments, scalability and architecture.

As a Software Engineering, you will have the following :

- Design, Development, Reviews etc.

- Walmart scale - exposure to various Walmart business units like Jet, Hayneedle, Walmart eCommerce.

- Interact with a highly skilled Architects community to share and learn new technologies, scale, performance etc.

- Gain hands on experience to design scalable solutions, work with Walmart business, product

- Gain development experience of sophisticated, scalable, and high performing system

- Leverage to open-source technologies using public clouds; build and mentor engineers; present ideas to larger organizations groups including innovation; foster culture independently to run a team.

Ideal Day in Life would be :

- Publish and update technical design and user/process documentation.

- Design, build and deploy cutting edge solutions at scale, impacting millions of customers.

- Drive Proof of Concept (POC) and Proof of Technology (POT) evaluations

- Create and recommend solution design options factoring in requirements, standards, and current Infrastructure environment. Communicate and present solutions to the other stakeholders

- Interacting with management

- Playing for features delivery

- Review KPIs, Monitoring and Alarms for successful production system

- Production System Review

- Lead engineering efforts from rapid prototypes to large-scale applications using a variety of languages and tools/technology stacks.

Minimum Qualifications :

- An Engineering Degree - B.E/BTech/MTech/MS in any stream - Computer Science preferred.

- 4+ years of relevant experience on J2EE, Distributed Database, Kafka with solid hands-on multi-threading, functional programing etc.

- Experience working on large scale distributed system.

- A strong understanding of CS Fundamentals, Data Structures, Algorithms and Problem Solving

- Good debugging and problem-solving capability

- Strong knowledge of SDLC best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, CI/CD, testing, and operations

- Out of the box thinking and being creative in recommending UX to product team.

- Influential communication skills; ability to effectively articulate technical challenges solutions

- Strong Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design,

- Hands-on experience in J2EE Technologies, Cloud technologies and microservices.
