About the role:


On the web development team, you will craft delightful digital experiences with Product Management and Design partners that span a full vertical slice, from UI to backend. Each Agile team consists of 3-4 engineers, a Product Manager, UX/UI designer, and/or an Analyst. Our teams align to a core business domain: Consumer, Breeder, Veterinary, or Long Term Value. This year is a very exciting time to join Embark; this year the team will:

What you’ll do:


You are an Individual Contributor who is capable of consistently, reliably, and independently delivering well-defined solutions with little to no supervision. You’ll utilize your strong understanding of software development and internal/external collaboration skills to maximize the impact of each line of code you and your teammates write. Here’s a closer look at the day to day:



  • Deliver clean, efficient, maintainable code, as well as thorough tests and documentation

  • Perform code reviews for others and respond to code reviews on your code

  • Collaborate with our Product Management team and stakeholders to deliver high impact products and services

  • Contribute to improving our technology and development practices via retrospectives and other means, with the goal of continuous improvement of quality and team efficiency


What experience we’re looking for:



  • At least a Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

  • From 2+ years of professional web development experience

  • Developed strong experience building server side rendered web applications in HTML/CSS and JavaScript/TypeScript

  • Developed a strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL) using SQL

  • Developed a strong understanding of AWS or similar cloud technologies

  • Utilizes CI/CD tools like CircleCI to ensure high quality, efficient delivery of software

  • Comfortable working with frontend frameworks like Vue.js

  • Understands DevOps, as well as Agile development philosophies

  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation including some weekends and holidays
