Junior Software Engineer (Trainee) at Fei Siong Food Management Pte. Ltd. (Singapore)

Reporting to the Head of Technology in incumbent is responsible to improve operations by increasing ease of use through building internal systems, to use cutting edge frontend and backend technologies to build innovative solutions, utilizing APIs and backend technologies to improve data availability within the organization, building the frontend for web user interfaces for data visualization and data collection and enabling data availability and data flow.

1. Objective
   

• To improve operations by increasing ease of use through building internal systems & system user interfaces


• To use cutting edge frontend & backend technologies to build innovative solutions


• To utilize APIs and backend technologies to improve data availability within the organization


• To utilize practical user interface design to enhance user satisfaction and in turn improve employee productivity


• To build the backend for web user interfaces for data visualization and data collection.


• To enable data availability and data flow (Web)

1. Requirements
   

• Understanding of Object Oriented Architecture


• Interested in HTML5, CSS3, SASS/SCSS


• Interested in at least 3 Javascript Technologies - ReactJS / VueJS / AngularJS / NodeJS / TypeScript / AJAX / JSON


• Interest in SQL Databases (MySQL) and Query Optimization


• Interested in LEMP Stack / LAMP / MERN Stack


• Interested in PHP Frameworks such as Laravel / Symfony


• Open minded and collaborative team spirit.


• Willing to try out innovative ideas.


• Development Background / Internships / Academic Qualifications (Good to have)

1. Responsibilities
   

• Manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables within negotiated timeframes.


• Collaborate with project stakeholders and frontend designers / developers to design and implement innovative solutions.


• Architect modular and reusable functions with best practices


• Develop web application prototypes


• Create production grade web applications


• To build and maintain RESTful API services


• To integrate with 3rd party vendor based APIs for data consistency


• To maintain data consistency within SQL databases


• Build report interfaces and data feeds


• Build user flows, wireframes and interactive high-fidelity mockups


• Implementing javascript technologies and building frontend for both our customer facing and staff facing systems


• Building user friendly dashboards for internal staff to increase ease of operations and analysis for improved decision making.


• Building front facing websites and user interfaces for customers
