As a member of the development team at Askuity, you will assist in building the next-gen of our product with us. Your immediate focus will be in designing and developing RESTful and event driven services to help build new products aimed at delivering valuable retail insights to our users. What you’ll do with Askuity:

• Get deeply involved in our technical direction while delivering well-tested, performant, and maintainable code for our data powered Cloud platform


• Design and develop best of breed RESTful and event driven services


• Gain an understanding of the real-world problems of our users to help build a great product that exceeds the expectations of our customers


• Collaborate with product stakeholders to understand, design, and implement product features, and realize our product vision to help our customers make better sense of their retail data


• Evaluate new technologies and assess their suitability to solve challenges of today and into the future

Requirements for the role:

• Strong hands-on technical expertise and demonstrated ability to design and implement reliable, scalable, high performing solutions


• Experience building service-oriented architectures and web applications – we have a lot of things that are HTTP and REST-based


• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills


• Experience mentoring teammates, and a passion for contributing to their growth


• Proven experience working with GCP and/or AWS products, optimizing performance and costs


• A thirst to innovate


• A self-starter attitude – at Askuity, the drive to do better and be better is baked into our culture

Tech experience that gets us excited:

• Functional programming – Scala, Kotlin, Elixir. We’re also game if you have experience with Java, and interest / exposure to functional programming


• GCP and BigQuery experience is ideal, AWS or other Cloud experience would be an asset


• SQL – PostgreSQL


• Exposure to OLAP and strong CS fundamentals (Data Structures and Algorithms)


• DevOps – Docker, Kubernetes
