About the Lead Developer position


AMPSIGHT provides high-performance cloud, data analytics, and machine learning consulting services to the federal government and highly regulated industries including defense, financial services, and healthcare.  We are looking to hire a full-time Lead Developer to work alongside our team of talented engineers and developers based in the Washington, DC Metro Area. If you are passionate about technology and looking for an exciting and fast paced work environment, we are interested in hearing from you.


Lead Developer responsibilities are:


Software Development (80%)



  • Very competent in the core technologies

    • Python and associated frameworks (flask, djnago, etc.)

    • NoSQL and traditional databases like postgres

    • Single page applications like React



  • Understands high-level architectural design and patterns including microservices

  • Understanding AWS application services (DynamoDB, SQS, Lambda, API gateway, etc.)

  • Experience building "full" solutions

  • Passion for taking a concept through the full life cycle


Product Development (20%)



  • Understanding of the business and/or mission problem

  • Aid in planning development roadmap and timelines

  • Work closely with product managers to design features and prioritize tasks.

  • Provide feedback to marketing and sales

  • Discuss and aid the CEO to make sure that the development team and technologies being selected are aligned with the business' goals and vision of the company.

  • must contribute a genuine passion and enthusiasm for the product
