The team

You will join an autonomous SCRUM team of highly skilled cross-functional colleagues – all with insights about various aspects of our products, technologies and engineering practices.
We have end-to-end responsibility for several master data entities, and we always search for new ways of creating value, while continually improving our existing solutions.
In BESTSELLER IT the atmosphere is more like that of a start-up than an IT department with hundreds of colleagues. We have rapid decision processes, there is room for experimenting with new technologies, and we move fast from idea to execution.
The job
Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, deploy, operate and improve software solutions. You work either independently or with support from architects or senior programmers. We have a full-stack approach, but you don’t need to be an expert on the database layer; our strong in-house DBA team will support you on technical issues.
Your profile
As a person, you have a strong desire to learn and understand new technologies. Being part of an agile team, it is a given to you to share your knowledge and to inspire and support your colleagues. You contribute constructively to team discussions, and you enjoy finding creative solutions to complex problems in collaboration with your colleagues. Owing to your critical eye and sense for detail, you deliver quality code, take ownership and feel accountable for the team’s results. You have strong business acumen and thrive in a role that involves close collaboration with colleagues across the entire business to deliver solutions with the end-user in mind.
Qualifications
- You are either a recent graduate from a programming-oriented education or have up to five years of relevant work experience
- You demonstrate a passion for developing existing systems as well as bringing in new technologies
- Front-end development is not completely new to you
- You are familiar with Java and C#, and most importantly, you are object-oriented and organise your code in a logical structure to ensure optimal conditions for maintenance and reusability
- You don’t need to know about SCRUM – we will get you there, when you join us on our agile journey – but you have to enjoy working as a team.
