Awesome back-end developer (60-100%) at vestr AG (Zürich, Schweiz)

vestr AG is a fast-growing and well-funded startup company in the financial technology space ("fintech"). We provide tailored software services to leading banks and asset managers and our white-labeled platform is frequently referred to as the engine behind active management.

The company was founded by experienced industry veterans and our investors include SIX Group - which runs the Swiss Stock Exchange - as well as some large banks and professional investors.

Our focus

We build on modern technologies, maintain a laser-sharp focus on the needs of our clients and strive to continuously improve our offering. Our goal is to become the market standard and we need your help to get there!

Your profile

We realize that everyone is different and we value diversity. For this reason, we don't have a definite checklist of must-have attributes we require from a talented back-end developer.

Instead, we value a thirst for knowledge, a passion for technology - and life! - and a drive to move things forward. To make it easier for you, here are some of the quantitative skills our current developers bring to the table:

  • Expertise in Node.js and TypeScript

  • Solid working knowledge of RabbitMQ (or other message brokers) and MongoDB

  • Conceptual knowledge of CQRS, event sourcing, messaging, and microservices

  • A good understanding of GraphQL and React.js

  • Applied knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes*

  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows*

  • Experience with agile project management / SCRUM

*Note: we do have a dedicated in-house DevOps team to support us with these

If you had previous exposure to four or more of these technologies and are looking for a new challenge then you should definitely contact us. We are looking for a fast learner with broad interests and a positive attitude. Of course, a degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or engineering is always a plus and so are personal- or open-source tech projects to which you have made major contributions.

What to expect

  • Young, dynamic and open culture

  • Little bureaucracy and flat hierarchies

  • A chance to leverage your experience and bring in your own ideas

  • Central office location with easy access by public transport

  • Team events in beautiful Switzerland

  • An international team with English as the office language

  • A flexible work environment with support for part-time contributors

  • Fair market remuneration

We are looking forward to hearing from you!
