Software Engineer - Back-End at Oblong Industries (Los Angeles, CA)

Job Description




The Mezzanine team is looking for a Software Engineer to work on back-end services and infrastructure that enables centralized management, configuration, collaboration, and video streaming services to our core product, Mezzanine™. We are looking for an engineer who is passionate about using modern technologies, new feature development, and continuous integration. This role will have the ability to make regular high-impact contributions to a user-facing product with a steady release cycle.


Responsibilities:




  • Build, design and code new features and enhancements for Mezzanine’s centralized management service




  • Create, extend, test, and maintain back-end services and APIs written in Go




  • Write automated tests and improve infrastructure using tools like Docker and GitLab CI




  • Participate in all aspects of product development using Agile/Scrum methodology








Qualifications




Basic qualifications:




  • 3+ years of experience and a passion for shipping high quality, elegant, tested code




  • Experience developing back-end services and APIs with Go, Python, or Ruby




  • Experience creating and maintaining client server APIs




  • Experience working and developing with the Linux environment at a system level




Nice to have:




  • Experience with Javascript/Typescript, Python, Ruby




  • Knowledge of React and basic front end development




  • Experience working with or knowledge of gRCP




  • Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Engine, and Kubernetes




  • Experience working and contributing to Open Source projects
