Function Description :
- Manager, Global Commercial Product Analytics, EDA
- Drive profitable growth in Merchant Financing. The incumbent is expected to lead a team of analysts along wide spectrum of analytical engagement across measurement, decision science and strategic analysis. The incumbent will come up with solutions to accelerate analytical efficiency of the team.
- The role will require the incumbent to drive not only sophisticated analysis but also heavy stakeholder management through thought-leadership.
Purpose of the Role :
- Growing commercial financing is a top priority for American Express, especially as the company mobilizes to capitalize on key growth opportunities.
- The analyst would be a part of the non card lending analytics team. He/she will play a critical role in formulating data-led strategies to drive profitable growth for Merchant Financing.
- The candidate will be responsible for driving product innovation in targetting and analysing campaign performance to carve out strategies to improve marketing efficacy.
- The candidate will work very closely with business partners from product, marketing and risk teams to come up with solutions to business critical problems, and implement them. He/she will leverage big data capabilities, advanced analytical techniques and statistical modeling .
The candidate will lead a team of 3 analysts.
- Advanced degree in quantitative field from a premium institute or (e.g. Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, MBA) preferred
Responsibilities :
The candidate will work very closely with business partners from product, marketing and risk teams to come up with solutions to business critical problems, and implement them. He/she will leverage big data capabilities, advanced analytical techniques and statistical modeling .
- Advanced degree in quantitative field from a premium institute or (e.g. Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, MBA) preferred
Critical Factors to Success :
1. Strong problem solving skills
2. Experience data analytics (either through work or academics)
3. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
4. Experience with advanced statistical modeling techniques
5. Proficiency & experience in using data manipulation & statistical analysis tools (Python, Hive, R, SQL, SAS, etc.)
Qualifications :
Past Experience : Minimum experience of 5+ years In Analytics/relevant domain, either as individual contributor or people leader
Academic Background : Advanced degree in quantitative field from a premium institute or (e.g. Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, MBA) preferred
Functional Skills/Capabilities :
- Knowledge of Amex data and products
- High fluency with Python, Pyspark, Hive, SAS
- Adept at machine learning algorithms and model building
- Proven ability to drive results
Technical Skills/Capabilities :
- Proficiency & experience in using data manipulation & statistical analysis tools (Python, Hive, R, SQL, SAS, etc.)
- Strong Modelling Skills
- Knowledge of Amex data and products
- Knowledge of Platforms:

- Ability to lead team, show ownership and drive results
- Stakeholder management skills
- High proficiency in communication - written and verbal
