Job Description :
A) Function Description : Analyst (Product Development), Risk Capabilities
B) Purpose of the Role :
- An Individual Contributor who role will gather requirements from the client, design, develop, troubleshoot, and document software and systems that meet the needs of customer-facing applications, business applications, and/or internal end-user applications which will be applicable across all the value streams of the Credit and Fraud Risk Management capability.
C) Responsibilities :
- As a member of an agile scrum dev team, contribute to software application builds through consistent development practices (tools, common components, and documentation)
- Demonstrate increased self-reliance to achieve team goals
- Participate in code reviews and automated testing
- Debug basic software components and identify code defects for remediation
- Drive discussions with partners (clients) to refine business rules.
- Proactively identify and automate manual tasks to improve quality and efficiency.
- Design and build robust data model architecture to support optimal data processing and standardized metric definitions.
- Provide recommendations to enhance capabilities to drive efficiencies in Alerting applications.
- Work with team on implementing test automation and CI/CD strategies across the applications
D) Critical Factors to Success :
i) Must Have : Overall 1-2 years of experience including at least 1 year of relevant experience in the following areas :
- Programming skills and hands-on experience in Java
- Strong understanding of Analytical BI tools and proficient in SQL (HiveQL, SQL)
- Working Knowledge of Spark and Hadoop ecosystems and a minimum of 1 year of work experience leveraging the ecosystem to build/support applications.
ii) Good to Have :
- Front End development experience in DotNet, Angular
- Strong Know-how of agile methodologies like Scrum, SAFE, Kanban.
- Working experience on Code repository tools like GIT/SVN.
- Understanding of basic statistics
- Demonstrable experience in Business intelligence and visualization tools is good to have.
- Basic Experience with CI/CD best practices including tools for automating software quality
- Knowledge of existing Risk applications in AXP OR hands-on experience on the Cornerstone platform would be a plus.
E) Qualifications :
i) Past Experience : Overall 1-3 years of experience, with min. 1 year of relevant experience in :
- Familiar with Agile or other rapid application development methods
- Experience with design and coding across one or more platforms and as appropriate
- Hands-on experience with application design, software development, and automated testing
- Exposure to distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases
- Experience with object-oriented design and coding with a variety of languages
ii) Academic Background : Bachelors Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related experience
F) Functional Skills/Capabilities :
- Ability to engage with business partners and groom requirements into workable solutions
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
G) Technical Skills/Capabilities :
- Java
- SQL
- HiveQL
- Python
- DotNet/Angular (optional)
- SAS or R (optional)
H) Knowledge of Platforms :
- Hadoop
- Spark
