Job Description :
The infrastructure engineer role will be responsible for the delivery of Network Automation Initiatives globally within American Express. It will play an integral role for the engineering and delivery of new network automation and responsible for the management of network automation infrastructure and systems.
The Infrastructure Engineer would be responsible for :
- Automate DNS, Load Balancer, Switching and Routing functions to optimize and improve network change deployment and improve customer experience
- Provides architectural governance, reviewing projects to ensure alignment to architectural standards and technical strategy.
- Manages (monitors and addresses) third parties to ensure quality delivery and adherence to standards.
Qualifications:
Required Skills :
- 3+ years of experience in building and supporting large scale Campus LAN, WAN and Datacenter networks.
- Object-oriented programming skills (Python, JAVA, .NET)
- Development of web services and an understanding of APIs (REST and SOAP with XML or JSON)
- Experience with software development
- Experience or knowledge of network services is a plus (Cisco switches, load balancers, firewalls, etc)
- Database development experience (SQL, MongoDB, etc)
- Protocols like TCP/IP, SNMP, NetCONF
- Strong knowledge of protocols like TCP, UDP, and IP.
- Must be willing to learn new technologies while being able to adapt to a fast pace service driven environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with ability to communicate to all levels of peers, customers, and leadership
Education Requirement :
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in the field of networking.
Preferred Additional Skills :
- Experience of AppviewX product
- Experience or knowledge of IaaS, PaaS concepts and infrastructure provisioning methodologies.
- Experience or knowledge of SDN and NFV concepts
