We are adopting the SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) concept, invented directly in Silicon Valley, and bring it to an enterprise scale. This means changing the way we work and think. That means more than 200.000 Users in more than 500 locations worldwide everyday 24 hours on 365 days a year and millions of cars, trucks, vans and busses.
Your tasks will be:
As a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer -
You will be part of a DevOps Team developing bleeding edge technologies in various Daimler departments.
You and your team will have the global responsibility for new services.
Your role has a strong focus on operations and infrastructure topics. Together with the team, you will also be responsible for other aspects of the product like architecture, security, development, and delivery.
You will work closely with other software engineering teams around the globe.
As part of the DevOps team you will be the central responsible engineer managing and designing a worldwide operations service desk.
You will be the central contact for all infrastructure and operations topics to the DevOps Team
You will drive the future of the SRE adoption in our organization.
Your qualifications:
Experience and specific knowledge:
You have several years of experience working with automated CI/CD-pipelines (e.g. using VSTS, Jenkins, Powershell, Bash)
You have several years of experience developing in Java/.NET
You have knowledge about cloud technologies and cloud infrastructure (e.g. Microsoft Azure, Amazons AWS, IBM Cloud)
You have experience with the implementation of Infrastructure-as-Code concepts
You have experience setting up operations teams and processes
You have experience in network/infrastructure design and implementation (optional)
You have experience in designing and developing IoT solutions (optional)
You have experience in working in an agile environment
Language skills:
You have very good English skills
Soft Skills:
You love coding and solving complex problems (e.g. large scale message processing, Hybrid Infrastructure scenarios)
You are open-minded towards new challenges
You have a very high motivation changing the game
