Software Engineer II (TRNS WDN Operations/ Operational Engineering) for Wayfair LLC in Boston, MA to modify and build web-based transportation applications using PHP; integrate new and enhanced applications with our current platforms, working with several large and complex SQL databases; develop software algorithms to streamline back-end business workflow; produce robust, elegant and scalable software that performs well under high load and variable demand; direct system testing and validation procedures; design and develop applications to re solve complex business challenges; and analyze business needs and make appropriate technology decisions to meet those needs. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus one year of experience performing database schema and Query design and web services development. One year of experience must include: Performing version control using GIT; Performing Shell scripting; Defining test plans and performing unit testing, and reviewing code defects; Performing SQL database development including designing, queries, performance tuning, and performing data ETL; Utilizing Jenkins to deploy application code into server environments; Interfacing with business product leaders and engineers to gather requirements and translate requirements into system design; and Building and maintaining RESTful web services.
