This is a full stack role, covering everything from designing interfaces and building back end services and APIs, to configuring build pipelines and deployment systems. We are a data driven company and monitor and track everything we do to get the best outcomes. With high volume use cases, it’s a chance to showcase your software and architectural skills to help revolutionize the online travel space. You will be employing technologies to cover front end development (such as JavaScript, React and CSS), back end development (covering .Net and Java/Scala services with SQL and NoSQL data stores) and everything in between to help us continue evolving our platforms. We are all about performance, scalability, security and wrapping it all in the best user experience our customers can imagine.
You’ll be responsible for the complete scope, design, build and testing of products and features for one of Asia’s fastest growing e-commerce websites, specifically for Chinese market. As a part of the Agoda team, you will be exposed to numerous innovative technologies in the fields of data-processing, big data, efficient data storage structures, recommender systems / machine learning, natural language processing, and many more. Whichever technology we work with, it must operate at the performance needs of a hyper-scale infrastructure operating at thousands of requests per second.
We work from 9am - 6pm most days in the center of Bangkok, not 996, within the offices at Central World complex. The City is very modern, and the Engineering Team has expats from over 70 countries around the World - true Engineering experts. About you:
We’re looking for exceptional Engineers with an amazing breadth and depth of technology expertise! If you’re the kind of person that looks at the bigger picture and want to build something that has a real impact on the end user Agoda is the place for you.
- Ability to see the big picture but still love to code!
- Strong in backend languages, such as C#, Java, or Scala
- Familiar with client-side frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue etc.
- Strong HTML/CSS skills – you understand not only how to build the data, but how to make it look great too.
- Knowledge of architectural design and you like to build something scalable and flexible to support business
- Agile or Scrum is your favorite development approach. You want autonomy to create a better team.
- And when we start talking about performance, security, unit testing and automation? Well that’s music to your ears…
- Excellent written and spoken Chinese language skills
- Conversational English language skills (written and spoken)
