Senior Back-End Engineer at Burrow (New York, NY)

Burrow is seeking a Back-End Engineer to be a key member in evolving our technology.  The ideal candidate is motivated to help continue automating and scaling our infrastructure with a strong desire to implement change, growth and maturity.  This person will have opportunities to experiment with and implement new technologies across our entire architecture. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, willing to try new things, and constantly push the envelope.

Day to Day Responsibilities

• 
  
• Designing and developing automation to support continuous integration and continuous delivery processes
• 
  
• Ensuring data flow and integrity between systems to ensure e-commerce system availability and consistency.
• 
  
• Systems performance tuning with a focus on high availability and scalability.
• 
  
• Deploying and maintaining the operability and performance of our applications and systems running in the cloud
• 
  
• Maintaining secure and scalable systems.
• 
  
• Making data available to teams for reporting and analytics.
• 
  
• Operational and security monitoring and care for the infrastructure and software platforms
• 
  

You in a Nutshell

• 
  
• An Expert in these backend technologies ( Node.js, Java and Python)
• 
  
• Experience in deploying  AWS infrastructure (Especially EC2, S3, CloudFront, Redshift, Elasticache, RDS, CloudFormation, Route 53, VPC, VPN, and ECS).
• 
  
• Experience with cloud based E-Commerce architecture setups and movement of data across
• 
  
• Understands security best practices, has ability to design secure, reliable systems.
• 
  
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CICD), DevOps and System Administration.
• 
  
• Experience in Application lifecycle/release management and Agile methodology
• 
  
• Ability to query databases and build reports. General understanding of database administration a plus
• 
  
• Experience with on-boarding new software vendors.
• 
  
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 
  
• Experience with production grade container deployment is a plus.
• 
  
• Good written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills
