Key responsibilities of the role:
- Building a native Android app for the Airtasker marketplace
- Scoping new features for the platform with the Product and UX teams
- Contributing to the engineering roadmap
- Managing multiple projects across the business simultaneously
Key attributes that we are looking for:
Essential
- Minimum of 3-5 years commercial Android experience
- Experience working with and utilizing APIs to achieve scale
- Degree in Computer Science / Engineering or related IT discipline
- Practical PostgreSQL experience
- Experience with Git and branching best practice
- Work in an Agile manner, iterating through user stories and applying Test Driven Development techniques
- Experience in using various testing frameworks for automated testing
- Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code
- Effective collaborator with both non-technical and technical team members
Desirable
- Working knowledge of software testing methods and quality assurance
- Contributed to the open source community
- Interest in the start-up and technology community
