Job Description:

AD Mainframe - Application Developer - L3 Support

Department Description

The Treasury Services Technology group in EMEA / ASIAPAC develops and supports systems for the Treasury Services business. Overall the group supports more than 50 applications across various technology platforms. The role that is available is within the Applications Development team working on the Money Transfer System, MTS.

MTS is an in-house developed application running on a mainframe using ADABAS, NATURAL, COBOL, JCL, CICS. This application supports 15 locations across APAC handles high value and time critical payments each day.

Key Responsibilities

Working on projects as an Application Developer - L3 Support

Responsibilities will include:

Understand Payments business and support various queries raised by Business and L1/L2 support team with respect to the application

Demonstrate Technical and functional ability to handle very high Priority Incidents affecting the application being supported

Knowledge and application of various tools - Incident Management tools (Ex: HPSM), Defect management tools (Ex:HP ALM) and Change Management Tools (Ex: CA-Endevor, ITSM)

Understanding Business Requirements, and Functional Specifications and strong ability and experience in changing existing program logic

Providing and/or agreeing estimates for required development

Creation/ update of Detailed Design Specifications, Program Specifications, and program Version Control documentation

Coding of new programs and changes to existing programs

Creation of Unit Test Plans, and execution of Unit Tests

Preparation and execution of Systems Test Plans and Scripts

Providing technical support for Quality Assurance (QA) Testing

Providing technical support for User Acceptance Testing

Creation of Implementation/ Backout/Validation Plans and Support Handover Documents

Providing technical support for Production Implementations, and post-implementation support during implementation warranty period

Experience Required

Multiple years' Application Development experience in a mainframe environment, including coding using ADABAS/Natural and COBOL.

Experience in handling Priority Level 1 Incidents

Experience in handling application level queries raised by Business Users effectively

Experience of development of CICS tasks

Experience of mainframe facilities TSO, CA7, NDM, SYNCSORT

Experience of MQ (message transfer process)

Knowledge and experience of Microsoft PROJECT, WORD, EXCEL applications

Knowledge of a Project Life Cycle with specific experience of the stages from Design through to Implementation.

Experience of development of financial applications, including financial transaction processing, settlement, and accounting
