Job DescriptionThe IT Applications Administrator serves as a subject matter expert, supports, advises, and maintains, various computer operations throughout the Department of Revenue. This includes technical support, telecommunication, computer operations, and network administration and infrastructure. The selected candidate will assist in assessment, coordination, documentation, release note review, testing and implementation of custom applications, upgrades to current systems, and project requests. They will possess the ability to Prioritize and Address support and incident requests and coordinate them within the SysAid Service desk application. With guidance from the Revenue IT Operations Manager the incumbent will resolve highly complex, multi-function application errors and system issues, provide and communicate clear documentation for support, status, and issues resolutions and work closely with vendors, contractors and the development teams to resolve certain issues that cannot be resolved in-house.Essential FunctionsLearn business and operations of the Department of Revenue and related agencies as required to perform duties.Responsible for implementing and managing several complex systems via wide array of individual hardware and software technologiesProvides technical support to ensure that personal computers and server (hardware and software) are performing properlyTracks/Maintains technology inventoryMaintains security administration of systems and assigns local domain log-in profile and passwords for staff as necessary; ensures that users have access to appropriate applications and files that they requireMaintains network devices, server equipment, operating systems, and associated services, and ensures security of network assetsWorks with users to analyze their requirements and provides technical guidance on software standards and procedures to department members as neededWill develop and maintain a knowledge base for staff on various IT related topicsMonitors daily backups and restores when requiredMaintains security, operation and maintenance of systemEnsures strict adherence to software licensing rules and maintains careful recordsGenerates reports and summaries requiring technical expertise on utilization, projected needs and other areas as requested by managementTravels to various site locations as neededGeneral knowledge of VoIP telephone systemsCoordinates security protocols and procedures including passwords, security cameras, and HIPPA compliance effortsDemonstrates strong initiative, establishes personal goals, and takes responsibility for meeting them within defined time-lines is required.Ability to function in a dynamic environment subject to spontaneous changes in schedules and priorities is required.Ability to analyze various computer programs to achieve desired output.Experience With Leading Multiple Initiatives Concurrently Is Preferred.Strong and effective inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to interact professionally ticketing systemsExperience with Sysaid, Solarwinds, PDQ, VMware and other COP Enterprise SystemsActive Directory Administration Experience PreferredSupport and maintenance of Sql Database and Oracle based applications preferredQualificationsA+, Net+, Security+ and MCSA SQL server certifications or commitment to achieve certifications within 24 monthsMinimum of two (3) years of experience providing network and application support services to end usersAssociates degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.Experience Administering Microsoft based systems as a shared responsibility, Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, NFS, and related enterprise management systemsExperience with installation and support of MS Exchange, MS Office, Access, Project and VisioExperience Working In a Large Government Agency Preferred.Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by the Revenue IT
