Our Merchant Operations tech team can be categorized into the following topics: articles creation, orders profile, analytics, workflow engine, merchants portal.
Our team strongly believes in the flexibility of code and expect you to share our vision. Our backend systems are mostly written in Scala, however we are able to work with several languages and easily adapt our development approach to the problem, so should you. By using Scala with Akka Http, PostgreSQL all hosted on AWS or Kubernetes we were building high performance solutions.
YOUR ROLE
As a backend software engineer within Merchant Operations department, you will be expected to be a strong problem solver, with a solid grasp of computer science fundamentals.
Purpose. You have the opportunity to shape the future in one of the hottest topics in e-commerce today: you are a key player for creating the next generation of order management and article creation systems, task management systems and shape high volume data coming through our systems.
Autonomy. Based on our microservices architecture, you and your team will own your code, and decide on the technologies and tools to deliver as well operate large-scale applications on cloud (AWS). Our team is also an early adopter of Kubernetes.
Impact. You will work with dedicated teams to create a highly scalable solution and to build products that will shape the next generation of marketplace processes. You and your team will work like a startup and take ownership for the whole development cycle - from architecture design to testing to implementation and maintenance.
Variety. Expect to collaborate with a variety of peers and be part of a cross-functional, autonomous team. You will get the opportunity to bridge the gap between business, operations and technology. You continually build knowledge and stay informed of current market trends and technologies.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
You have experience as a Backend Software Engineer in a complex working environment. You have acquired in-depth understanding of agile methodologies, experience in working with cross-functional teams and you are up-to-date on industry standards. You are interested in current trends in software design, architecture and web services and passionate about well-structured, readable and testable code.
Technology. You have knowledge of JVM based technology stacks and in designing distributed systems, microservices, and cloud architectures as well as experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS. We use a variety of languages and even if you don’t know Scala, we certainly expect you to enjoy learning it with us.
Effective networker. We believe in autonomous teams that can own and drive topics. You understand the needs of markets, customers and all stakeholders and as well as business and operational processes. You play a critical role in the team as a creative input and you collaborate with stakeholders during the development process.
